CONNECTORS
Turkey uses the Type F connector. Type F electrical connectors used in Turkey are manufactured to the CEE 7/3 standard and are commonly referred to as Schuko connectors.
The Turkey CEE 7/3 connector, rated 16 amps 250 volts, features grounding contacts on both the top and bottom sides of the connector to ensure grounded connections with Type F CEE 7/4, CEE 7/7 plugs. General use Turkey Type F connectors are IP20 rated. More weather resistant models are produced with shuttered contact mechanisms inside the connector and include a connector closure cap to reach weather resistant ratings of IP44, IP54, IP66 and IP68. IP68 is suitable for short term submersible use. Turkey connectors maintain specific IP ratings when connected to the appropriate IP rated Type F CEE 7/4, CEE 7/7 plug.
Schuko CEE 7/3 connectors are manufactured using different materials. PVC and Nylon materials are for general use connectors and offer good impact resistance. Rubber materials are suitable for commercial, industrial and severe harsh use environments where durability and hammer proof resistance is required. Elamid plastic materials are used in applications where UV and chemical protection is required. PC and ABS materials are utilized on IP66, IP68 waterproof connectors for up to 2 bar / 2 h waterproof rating.
